An intelligence-led operation by Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) detectives, working jointly with officers from Ololua, has led to the discovery of a cannabis cultivation site in Kajiado.
Acting on actionable intelligence, the team descended on the site, catching the illegal enterprise in full bloom. The officers swiftly secured the scene and uprooted the cultivated cannabis sativa plants.
The operation yielded 78.98 kilograms of suspected cannabis sativa packed into five sacks, with an estimated street value of Ksh 2,369,000.
The suspect, 40-year-old Joseph Leimyayan, was taken into custody and is currently being processed as detectives finalise investigations ahead of his arraignment.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations reiterates its commitment to curbing the cultivation and trade of narcotics across the country. Members of the public are urged to continue sharing actionable intelligence to aid in the dismantling of illicit drug networks.
