MCAs yesterday approved Governor Sakaja Johnson’s KSh49.27 billion budget for FY 2026/27, boosting funding for roads, healthcare, school feeding, housing and ward development projects across Nairobi.
Key allocations include KSh2.4B for roads and drainage, KSh2.255B for ward projects, KSh1.06B for health facility upgrades, KSh900M for Dishi Na County, KSh793M for bursaries, KSh491M for markets and KSh5.3B for environment and water services.
The budget received bipartisan support from both Majority and Minority MCAs, who said it prioritises project completion, service delivery and equitable development across Nairobi’s 85
wards.
